Stefan Löfven who is the former Chairman and President of Swedens largest federation of labour union; IF Metall takes over the critical and crisis affected Social Democratic Party of Sweden. The Social Democrats in Sweden has had the power in office for more than 100 years however the last 2 terms has been dominated by ”the Alliance” with a majority rule by ”the Moderaterna”.

Every since ”the Alliance” had taken over the Social Democrats have been decreasing in numbers of voters which is also shown on its deep desperate act on having ”bad” Presidents and Chairman’s of the party (like Juholt). Although Stefan Löfven who has experience from the business sector on a much higher scale than the former rulers of the party gives the Social Democrats an edge.

Good luck Stefan and we will watch you closely on your new career.

Cheap Eats Top Ten South of USA

Publicerat 11 januari 2012 - i: Okategoriserat

2011 was a good year for Eating Companion (EC) and me. We ate well, at truck stops and downtown bistros, Mexican markets and South County diners. Here’s EC’s and my radically attenuated must-eats for the New Year:

10. Burns Court Café, Sarasota, USA
The neighborhood’s long-overdue Italian café makes proper Italian espresso drinks — i.e. small, dark and stiff. Their cappuccinos are a treat, but if you want to do as the Romans do, go for a macchiato, basically a double shot of espresso with a tiny dollop of thick frothed milk. A tiny spoon of sugar and enjoy.

9. Burritos Mexican Grill, Sarasota, USA
This Stickney Point Road strip mall Mexican joint rolls veggie burritos the size of EC’s leg, filled with broccoli, cauliflower, veggies galore, and they do a bang-up job on traditional Mexican fare, as well: bistek a la Mexicana, tamales, enchilada suizas, etc. There’s also a soft spot on their menu for those poor gluten-sensitive amongst us.

8. Lucky Dog Diner, Venice, USA
I can’t say EC and I weren’t without our hesitations. Fish tacos from a diner? And one that purports to specialize in hot dogs? Alas, we set our doubts aside and were rewarded for our bravery. Fish Taco Fridays at Lucky Dog are a festival, a carnival, a real treat. They fry fresh whitefish and pile on pico de gallo, shredded lettuce and cabbage, and a homemade, creamy Baja sauce.

7. Anita’s Sandcastle, Venice, USA
The hot dog shack at South Jetty in Venice holds a soft spot in EC’s and my hearts. On countless winter days, we’ve gorged on these Polish sausages, smothered in onions, relish, sauerkraut, etc., in between hourlong sessions out in the water, surfing. And yet so many of our landlubber neighbors have never had the pleasure. We insist: go.

6. KT’s Deli, Venice, USA
I didn’t know you could find a decent Vietnamese sandwich around here, let alone get one from what appears to be your everyday snackmart-type convenience store. This family-owned Venice Avenue secret will blow your mind.

5. Fratelli Pizza and Brew, Venice, USA
Venice pizzeria Fratelli Pizza and Brew opened up a few years ago, off the U.S. 41 Bypass, to rave reviews. For a small city truly saturated with Italian food, Venetian endorsements were not to be taken lightly. Stop in and try a plain slice (the pizza by which all pizzerias should be judged), see what all the fuss is about.
Fratelli Pizza and Brew, 1055 U.S. 41 Bypass, Venice. 488-1797.

4. Upper Crust Organic Café and Bakery, Venice, USA
Venice Avenue’s newest precious bakery does a lot of things right — turnovers and cupcakes, for example — but their scones set them apart from anywhere in the 941. Baked fresh each morning, the fruit scones are filled with fresh blueberries or blackberries, served hot with fresh, sweet clotted cream. They’re dreamy enough for two grown men to feel no shame saying to one another, Hey, you up for a scone?
uppercrustorganic.ning.com.

3. The Irish Pub and Grille on Main, Sarasota, USA
The Irish Pub on Main’s risotto or shepherd’s pie. Now occupying what was previously Stairway to Belgium (and before that something else, surely), the Irish Pub on Main does a mean risotto and shepherd’s pie. The risotto is massive, creamy and thick, while the shepherd’s pie is hearty enough for the saltiest of sailors, perfect for a rainy evening with friends.

2. Patrick’s, Sarasota, USA
Patrick’s Black and Blue Burger. I know, I know, this is nothing new. But after a tough year of relocating, Patrick’s is back to their original status, now operating out of what was previously Braza, just across the street from the original locale.

1. Eat Here, Sarasota, USA
One would never think that anything with Sean Murphy’s stamp would end up in a “cheap eats” section, but the man behind Beach Bistro, one of the most celebrated restaurants in Floridian foodie history, has done downtown a solid with the second installment of what could surely be an empire: Eat Here. The restaurant is all class for less cash, the perfect date spot for those of us who enjoy attention to detail, but who can’t fork out Benjamins each week for our special someone (though we would if we could!). EC and I recommend the blue tomato soup, the tempura beets and the Better Than Any Frenchman’s Soup. And if you’re feeling saucy, head upstairs and have Fred mix you a drink.

Benettons UNHATE Campaign

Publicerat 23 november 2011 - i: Art|Business|Fashion|Nöje

It is a hate and love attitue towards the Italian fashion label Benetton at the moment. The commercial on its political and religious posters of the worlds leaders kissing is a very strong statement today. They have also been criticized by religious groups and other political leaders around the world.

Today Benetton has announced that they will be taking down the commercial becouse of high presure from violent religious groups. Benettons defens is that the reason for this commercial are purly friendly and the aim to promote peace and love between different ethnic, religous and political groups.

I love it and I think it is very amusing to watch. =)

Anna Chapman – the new career

Publicerat 22 november 2011 - i: Business|Fashion|Nöje

Chapman was born Anna Vasil’yevna Kushchyenko in Volgograd, according to U.S. authorities, and her father was employed in the Soviet embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. According to Chapman’s British ex-husband, her father, Vasily Kushchenko, was also a senior KGB official, although this is unsubstantiated. According to her husband, Anna Chapman Kushchyenko earned a Masters degrees in economics with first class honours from Moscow University. According to other sources she got her degree from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

London: 2001–2006

Chapman moved to London in 2003 or 2004, working at NetJets, Barclays Bank and allegedly at a few other companies for brief periods.

She met Alex Chapman at a London Docklands rave party in 2001 and they married shortly thereafter in Moscow; as a result she gained dual Russian-British citizenship, and a British passport. After Anna was arrested in New York, Alex engaged media publicist Max Clifford, and sold his story to The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

New York: 2009–2010

She took up residence at 20 Exchange Place, one block from Wall Street in Manhattan. Her LinkedIn social networking site profile identified her as CEO of PropertyFinder LLC, a website selling real estate internationally. Alex has stated that Anna told him the enterprise was continually in the red for the first couple of years, and then suddenly in 2009, she had as many as 50 employees and a successful business.

She is reported to have been dating Michel Bittan, a prominent New York restaurant owner. She later described her time in the US with the Charles Dickens quote, ”it was the best of times, it was the worst of times”.

Russia: 2010–present

Late December 2010 Chapman was appointed to the public council of Young Guard of United Russia. According to the organization she ”will be engaged in educating young people”.

On 21 January 2011, Chapman began hosting a weekly TV show in Russia called Secrets of the World for REN TV.

In June 2011, Anna became editor of Venture Business News magazine, according to Bloomberg News.

She testified to the closed trial in absentia of Col. Alexander Poteyev that took place in Moscow in May and June 2011. Chapman testified that it was only Poteyev who could have provided the US authorities with the information that led to her arrest in 2010; she also alleged that she was arrested shortly after an undercover U.S. agent contacted her using a code that only Poteyev and her personal handler could know.

Chapman writes a column for Komsomolskaya Pravda. In October 2011 she was accused of plagiarising material on Alexander Pushkin from a book by Kremlin spin-doctor Oleg Matveychev. The Guardian newspaper reported that this incident added to a general negative trend towards her in certain sections of Russian society, saying that in September 2011, she had been ”heckled during a speech on leadership at a St Petersburg University.” Students had, it said, displayed signs stating: ”Chapman, get out of the university!” and ”The Kremlin and the porn studio are in the other direction!”

Today Anna Chapman showed her figure in the Russian Maxim and is now also a celebrity model in her homeland. She has had an amazing ride from a spy in the west to entreprenuer, model, actress and now TV profile.

You just have to dig her attitude!

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK; Chosongul: 조선민주주의인민공화국, Hanja: 朝鮮民主主義人民共和國), (commonly known as North Korea, is a country in East Asia, occupying the northern half of the Korean Peninsula. Its capital and largest city is Pyongyang. The Korean Demilitarized Zone serves as the buffer zone between North Korea and South Korea. The Amnok, or Yalu, and the Tumen rivers form the border between North Korea and China. A section of the Tumen River in the far northeast is the border with Russia.

The peninsula was governed by the Korean Empire until it was annexed by Japan following the Russo-Japanese War of 1905. It was dividedinto Soviet and American occupied zones in 1945, following the end of World War II. North Korea refused to participate in a United Nations–supervised election held in the south in 1948, which led to the creation of separate Korean governments for the two occupation zones. Both North and South Korea claimed sovereignty over the Korean Peninsula as a whole, which led to the Korean War of 1950. The Armistice Agreement of 1953 ended the fighting; however, the two countries are officially still at war against each other, as a peace treaty was never signed. Both states were accepted into the United Nations in 1991.

North Korea is a single-party state under a united front led by the Korean Workers’ Party (KWP). The country’s government follows the Juche ideology of self-reliance, developed by the country’s President, Kim Il-sung. After his death, Kim Il-sung was declared the country’s Eternal President. Juche became the official state ideology when the country adopted a new constitution in 1972, though Kim Il-sung had been using it to form policy since at least as early as 1955. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and a series of natural disasters, a famine occurred, causing the death of 900,000 to 2 million people. Facing these circumstances, leader Kim Jong-Il adoptedSongun, or a ”military-first” policy in order to strengthen the country and its government.

Many outside organizations report that North Korea is a totalitarian Stalinist dictatorship with an elaborate cult of personalityaround the Kim family and one of the lowest-ranking human rights records of any country. North Korea is the world’s most militarizednation, with a total of 9,495,000 active, reserve, and paramilitary personnel. It is a nuclear weapons state, and has an active space program.

Sun Drop Diamond for Sale

Publicerat 25 oktober 2011 - i: Okategoriserat

The Cora Sun-Drop diamond was formed deep within the Earth’s crust 1-3 billion years ago. As it grew, it incorporated nitrogen into its carbon crystal structure. It is these nitrogen impurities that give the diamond its yellow colour as they modify light, absorbing the blue part of the visible spectrum. The diamond then travelled on a long journey upwards in a slushy rock magma. After it was found within a kimberlite pipe (a type of volcanic rock), it was expertly studied and cut, bringing the diamond to life.

Good quality coloured diamonds, known as ”fancy” diamonds, are extremely rare. Only about 1 in 10,000 mined diamonds are thought to have good body colour, and only a small percentage of these are considered to have good enough clarity to be labelled as a fancy diamond.

The Cora Sun-Drop combines both a vivid yellow colour and another rare quality, a large size. At just over 110 carats, it is not only exceptionally large, it is the largest yellow pear-shaped diamond known.

Sotheby’s Geneva will present — in its sale of Magnificent Jewels on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 — one of the most impressive diamonds to come to auction in recent years.

The Sun-Drop Diamond, at 110.03 Carats, has been graded Fancy Vivid Yellow, the highest colour grading for a yellow diamond by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This exceptional stone ranks as the largest known pear-shaped fancy vivid yellow diamond in the world, and has a purity of VVS1.

Furthermore, according to the GIA, “a diamond such as the 110.03 carat Sun-Drop can almost be said to exude a magical aura. Its magnificent color combined with impressive size and uncommon cut make it a paragon in the world of diamonds.”

The stone was exhibited earlier this year at London’s Natural History Museum. The rough for the Sun-Drop Diamond was discovered in South Africa in 2010, and was cut and polished by Cora International, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of exceptional diamonds, with its headquarters in New York. This stunning diamond comes to the market with an estimate of $11-15 million.

So who will buy this mangficent diamond? My guess is swift bidding between secretive collectors, society jewellers, oligarchs keen to impress their women, and maybe, just maybe, interest from Prince Albert of Monaco who has showered his bride Charlene with gems.

Well, me and my wife, with three friends decided to travel to Beijing where we firts ended up meeting 4 years ago. However this time was different from the exchange student years. This time it was focused on shopping, luxury living and eating great food. We decided to stay at the amazing 5 star Hilton hotel in Beijing calls Hilton Wangfujing. We dined, wined, shopped and had a blast. My wife purchased a bunch of scarfs and bags of course and we tried some of our favourite restaurants in Beijing. It was probably one of the best trips and it was great meeting our friend Johans girlfriend for the first time. She is a blast.
